Is a Gluten Detection Service Dog Right for You?
Download the free Celiac Service Dog Starter Guide and get clear, practical answers about what this journey actually requires before you take your first step.
Finding reliable information about gluten detection dogs is harder than it should be. When I, Kendra first decided to train a dog to detect gluten, all I had was some vague information from a podcast, and time on my hands. Unfortunately, I made so many mistakes. I found that searching for information was not easy, and that there was so much misinformation. This led me to glutening myself during training, and doing the wrong things for my dog. Thankfully, I received the right information when Celiac Service Dog Trainer, Kari Bastyr reached out to me and pointed out what I was doing wrong. She gave me what I needed to train with the right trainer. I don't want you to make the mistakes I made.
Kari and I created this guide to make sure you get started correctly. This is more than just training a dog for fun, this is for your health. We both have celiac disease so we know what is at stake. We are sharing our knowledge with you as celiac service dog handlers, and Kari as a celiac service dog trainer and animal behaviorist.
We want to make sure you have what you need to get started properly and to make the right decision for your life.

"I wish I had seen these videos when I first started picking out a dog and trainer. This could have saved me more than a year of training with the wrong trainer. Poor Luna was so confused with the other trainer and I was very frustrated. Getting the right trainer and picking the right dog is so important for a service dog. Thank you for the videos- I learned so much.”
